The North Texas International Piano Symposium: Sounds of Latin America planning committee is seeking proposals for presentations, poster presentations, and lightning talks that showcase the piano repertoire of Latin American composers at the inaugural symposium to be held at Texas A&M University-Commerce on October 4-5, 2024.
Proposals must be submitted no later than June 21, 2024, 11:59 PM (Central Time). Proposals in English, Spanish and Portuguese are welcomed.
Accepted proposals will pay a $50 registration fee for in-person presentation and $40 for online presentation.
Proposal descriptions
- In-person and online presentations are 25-min length and showcase the piano repertoire of Latin American composers in the format of lectures, pedagogical lectures, lecture-recitals, solo recitals and chamber works with piano.
- Poster presentations showcase the different research and projects about the Latin American Repertoire. Group or individual submissions are permitted.
- Lightning Talks are short, 5-minute presentations about an idea, research and project that will allow attendees to learn about a topic in a succinct manner.

Accepted Online Presentations will need to submit a video recording by the assigned date when receiving the acceptance letter. Presenters must submit a high-quality video uploaded through an enlisted Youtube Link. Presenters that are not able to complete this submission by the assigned deadline, will not be considered as part of the conference.
